Fishing belt on the tree - the design is simple, but functional. It saves the crop from such insect pests as caterpillars, ants, whiteflies, aphids, mites, buckworms, weevils, tsvetonoedy. Of course, the trap works precisely on those insects that live on the ground, and then crawling up the tree crown. The design has only one minus: sometimes good insects fall into the trap. However, the advantages of the trap belt are much greater. In total there are 3 main varieties: dry, sticky and poisonous trap belt.
Each summer resident makes a dry trapping belt in his own way. We offer you a choice of three designs:
- Inverted funnel. From the thick paper or cardboard and rope (twine) or clay should be fixed on the tree inverted funnel, which will fall into insects.
- Double sided funnel. It works for insects in two directions: those that only go up the tree crown, and those that are already descending along it. Soak a piece of burlap or fabric 30-40 cm wide in an insecticide, wrap a tree with it. Fix it in the center with a rope so that the upper and lower edges remain free. Fill the inner space with clay, then the insects will inevitably fall and remain there.
- Gateway. Wrap a tree trunk with a piece of soft rubber 30-40 cm thick, fix the edge with rubber glue. Tighten the lower part of the rubber so as to form a roller with a recess. Inside, pour the sunflower or technical oil. Insects will fall into this sealed cup.
A belt made of glass wool also works well, although it does not look quite aesthetically pleasing. Wrap the tree trunk with foam rubber or glass wool, press the top with a stretch film. Insects will fall into the fiber. You just need to periodically pull them out or change the design.
For a sticky trap belt, you need sacking (or film, or paper) and special glue, or tar, or resin. Wrap the barrel with a cloth, spread the sticky liquid on top, fix the structure. You need to change every 3-4 weeks as the sticky layer dries.
For a poisonous belt, you will need a film / cloth and an insecticide. Saturate the fabric with poison, wrap the wood with it, wrap it with an additional layer of film on top of it so that the insecticide will evaporate less. Change this trap belt you need once a month. Do not forget that all belts are installed at a height of 30-60 cm from the ground!
